Saudi Arabia successfully launches two domestic satellites
Saudi Arabia has successfully launched the satellites SaudiSat 5A and SaudiSat 5B from the Chinese Long March 2D rocket from the Jiuquan base in China.
Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, said that achieving this achievement comes as a result of the efforts exerted by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology over the years in the transfer, resettlement and development of many advanced technologies including satellite technologies and building national cadres capable of dealing with these Technology and the establishment of advanced infrastructure, enabling the city to develop and manufacture satellites SaudiSat 5A and SaudiSat 5B in its laboratories with national hands

He added that these two satellites will be used to provide government agencies with high-resolution satellite images similar to those in developed countries for use in various fields of national development, adding that the two satellites will be managed and operated from an advanced control station located at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology

The city has already launched 13 Saudi satellites between 2000 and 2017 and participated in the implementation of scientific experiments in outer space in cooperation with the US space agency "NASA" and Stanford University on board the satellite "Saudi Sat4" in 2014 and participated in the mission "Chanq A 4 in cooperation with the Chinese Space Agency in 2018 to explore the moon
